Who is Bart Demeestere?
Bart Demeestere is a Belgian artist and architect living in Sweden and based in Sävar, a part of Umeå. After 25 years as founder of PM-architecten in Belgium, he now combines an international art practice with selective architectural work.
What makes your work unique?
My work moves deliberately between figurative and abstract, but also exists fully at both ends of that spectrum. Each work undergoes a systematic transformation, from recognisable form toward geometric abstraction, or the reverse. The human figure, including the nude, is a significant and recurring subject in my artwork.
Can I commission a personal artwork?
Yes. Alongside my own free work, I accept commissions for personal and intimate artworks, portraits, pets, family works, objects or places with special meaning. Commission work sustains my independent art practice, as it did for many historical artists.
Is there art for every budget?
Yes. Price depends on format, technique, and degree of finish. Feel free to get in touch, together we can always find something that fits your budget and wishes.
What is the difference between commission work and your own work?
I work in two ways. On one hand, I create autonomous works from my own artistic journey, available for sale through my catalogue. On the other hand, I work on commission, a work tailored to the client. Both are fully original artworks.
Do you work internationally?
Yes. All works are professionally packed and shipped to any destination worldwide. Distance is no barrier.
Can I rent artwork?
Yes, rental is possible, interesting for companies, offices, or temporary exhibitions. Get in touch to discuss the options.
Do you make art for businesses?
Yes. I create limited edition works for businesses, such as etchings or linocuts, ideal as a distinctive corporate gift or as art that gives your space a unique character. All works are priced including VAT and come with an invoice.
Do you sell prints or reproductions?
Yes. I sell original limited edition prints, including etchings and linocuts. Each print is unique within its series and signed. High-quality art prints and reproductions are coming soon. Get in touch if you are interested.
Do you take on architectural projects?
Selectively. I work on projects where architectural vision and artistic practice converge.
