This intimate domestic scene captures a quiet moment—a morning coffee ritual documented with photographic precision. The architectural detail of kitchen cabinets, doorways, and ceiling beams demonstrates spatial accuracy, whilst the two figures create narrative tension through their separate activities. The composition references Belgian interior painting traditions, whilst the contemporary setting grounds it in personal memory. Part of the roB (recollection of Belgium) project, this work bridges observation and nostalgia, transforming everyday domestic space into a formal composition. The work represents the artist’s Belgian heritage through an architectural rendering of familiar interior space.
